- What design features should you look for?
- How much is your teapot worth?
Sadler OKT42 Teapot Collectors Information
The important point to make is that these teapots were relatively cheap products at the time so they had chips, firing flaws and glaze faults from new. The glaze often has bubble marks, is not even, as the pot was ‘dipped’ into the liquid hence the glaze runs.
Sadler OKT42 Pre War Teapots
Pre war period Sadler OKT42 Teapots including early cold painted teapot, pre-war standard colourways and transfer teapot designs.
Sadler OKT42 Post War Teapots
Post war period Sadler OKT42 Teapots including standard colourways, mottled teapots and the revival of Sadler OKT42 Teapots.
Varieties of OKT42 Teapots
There are several variations of the standard production run; some of these would be a Sadler variation whereas others would have been made by design or accident by workers on the production line.
Associated Teapot Designs
These include the Sadler aeroplanes and tanks. The aeroplanes are considerably scarcer than the tanks and probably only available pre-war whereas the tank had a longer run. The caravan, bus and boat by the Beswick pottery are often listed as Sadler output because theese used the same pre-war green, yellow, ivory primary colourways as the early teapots.
Other Teapot Designs
These include blank OKT42 teapots, copies and forgeries, and racing themed teapots.
